National Legislative Program Evaluation Society (NLPES)Awards
Certificates of Impact: NLPES Certificates of Impact are earned by offices that document their work’s impact on state public policy. An office may apply for one certificate annually. NLPES is the section of the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) related to legislative oversight and performance auditing.
- 2014 NLPES Impact Award: Provision of Selected Services for Clients for Intellectual Disabilities
Attention was brought to the costly dual system of providing services to Connecticut residents with intellectual disabilities. There have been considerable operational changes and the pace at achieving primary single private provider system has been accelerated.
- 2013 NLPES Impact Award: Access to Substance Use Treatment for Insured Youth: Phase 1
Several recommendations regarding mental health parity, insurance utilization review, and state insurance oversight were incorporated into Public Act (P.A.) 13-3.
- 2012 NLPES Impact Award: Energy Efficiency in State Buildings (Section V)
During 2010, PRI provided staff assistance to an ad hoc legislative commission on which the PRI co-chairs sat. The commission’s recommendations regarding energy efficiency were implemented, leading to cost savings and improved conservation efforts.
