Discrimination Complaint Processing
This study examined the Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities’ (CHRO) discriminatory practice complaint process as it relates to employment, housing, credit, and public accommodations, with an emphasis on changes made to the process by Public Act 11-237.
Status
The PRI committee voted to direct its staff to draft a study scope on February 29, 2016, and approved the study scope on April 13, 2016. An informational public hearing was held on the study on September 21, 2016. On December 7, 2016, the committee voted unanimously to approve the PRI staff findings and recommendations report as presented by the study staff.
