University of Connecticut’s Affordability to Students
This study examined how the affordability of a University of Connecticut (UConn) undergraduate education has changed over the last 20 years, with particular attention to in-state students. It identified the university’s revenue and expenditure factors that influence the overall cost of attendance. The study also analyzed the impact of financial aid programs on affordability. Where possible, affordability and cost comparisons were made to peer institutions and selected top 10 public universities.
Status
The draft study scope was adopted by the committee on June 7, 2013. PRI staff presented update material to the committee at a meeting on October 3, 2013, followed by a public hearing on the study topic. (Testimony by Hearing Date).
PRI staff presented staff draft findings and proposed recommendations for this study to the committee on January 31, 2014, which the committee approved on February 6, 2014.
