Description: This Kiplinger map shows gas taxes per gallon in each state as of February 2018. Connecticut falls into the 35 CENT OR GREATER category with a gas tax of 39.3 cents per gallon which is in addition to the federal gas tax of 18.4 cents per gallon.

Description: This Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy map shows a history of sales tax collection for purchases made at Amazon.com. In Connecticut, Amazon did not collect sales tax until 2011 when it cut ties with in-state businesses to avoid doing so. In 2013 the company started to collect sales tax on direct sales only, and in 2018 it started to collect sales tax on both direct and marketplace sales.
