AN ACT REQUIRING THAT HEALTH CARRIERS ASSUME RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE COLLECTION OF OUT-OF-POCKET EXPENSES FOR COVERED BENEFITS.
To require that health carriers (1) collect any coinsurance, copayment, deductible or other out-of-pocket expense due and owing for a covered benefit that the health care provider provided to the insured, and (2) pay, after a certain period of time, such unpaid out-of-pocket expense due and owing for such covered benefit.
