AN ACT REQUIRING THE DEVELOPMENT OF A STATE-WIDE BUILDING CODE CONSISTING OF MORE STRINGENT ENERGY-EFFICIENCY REQUIREMENTS THAT MAY BE ADOPTED BY TOWNS, CITIES OR BOROUGHS.
To provide that (1) the Office of the State Building Inspector and the Codes and Standards Committee shall develop a state-wide building code that consists of a more stringent set of energy-efficiency requirements than those specified in the State Building Code, which may be adopted by a town, city or borough, and (2) in the process of developing such state-wide building code, said office and committee shall consider input from the public and stakeholders.
