AN ACT CREATING A STATE CAUSE OF ACTION FOR A VIOLATION OF THE FEDERAL HEALTH INSURANCE PORTABILITY AND ACCOUNTABILITY ACT OF 1996.

To create a state cause of action for an individual to recover damages for violations of the federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).
