AN ACT PROHIBITING HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS AND CLINICAL LABORATORIES FROM IMPOSING OUT-OF-POCKET EXPENSES BASED ON ESTIMATES OF CHARGES.
To prohibit any health care provider or clinical laboratory from imposing, for health care services or treatment rendered to an insured, a coinsurance, copayment, deductible or other out-of-pocket expense at the time of such service or treatment based on an estimate of charges, rather than an amount identified in the medical bill for such service or treatment.
