Thank you, Mr. President. Mr. President, I would ask that the Clerk call from the Agenda, January 2018 Special Session Public Act 17-1, which was House Bill 7601.

Mr. Clerk.

House Bill 7601, AN ACT CONCERNING ADJUSTMENTS TO THE STATE BUDGET REGARDING THE MEDICARE SAVINGS PROGRAM AND ELIGIBILITY THEREFOR.

Thank you very much, Mr. President. Mr. President, under current law, the decrease in eligibility would have taken effect on January 1st of this year and under the bill, the decrease in eligibility takes effect on July 1, 2018, and that way we would have time to deal with the financial impacts of the Medicare Savings Program for the next fiscal year.

SENATOR FORMICA (20TH):

Thank you. Good afternoon, Mr. President.

THE CHAIR:

Good afternoon, Senator. Please proceed.

SENATOR FORMICA (20TH):

Thank you. I rise to comment on the bill and ask that we consider voting in favor of this initiative. This is a compromised bipartisan effort that came to us. It was passed overwhelmingly and this will put all of the affected population at ease until June 30th and give us time in the coming session to look at a wide variety of things but especially, this particular issue moving forward in the next budget, so I urge adoption. Thank you, Mr. President.

THE CHAIR:

Thank you, Senator Formica. Any additional comment? Will you remark further on House Bill No. 7601? If not, I'm hearing no further members seeking to be recognized. We will order a roll call vote on this motion to repass and again, the -- an override of the governor's veto requires at least 24 votes to be cast in favor of the motion to repass. Mr. Clerk.

CLERK:

And, now --

THE CHAIR:
