The House will please come to order. Will the members, staff and guests please rise and direct your attention to the Dias, where Representative Rovero will lead us in prayer.

REP. ROVERO (51ST):

Let us pray. Almighty God, bless us as we come together for this Veto Session. Allow our deliberations to result in effective solutions to the State's business as we strive to serve the common good of all your people. Amen.

DEPUTY SPEAKER PRO TEMPORE GODFREY (110TH):

Thank you, sir, have a seat. And Representative Storms, will you lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance, please.

Yes, Mr. Speaker, I have the call of the session.

DEPUTY SPEAKER PRO TEMPORE GODFREY (110TH):

Will the Clerk please read the call?

CLERK:

The call reconvening the January 2018 special session of the 2017 General Assembly.

Whereas, the January 2018 Special Session of the General Assembly adjourned on January 8, 2018; and whereas the Governor has disapproved a bill passed by the January 2018 Special Session of the General Assembly and has transmitted the same to the Secretary of the State with his objections; and, whereas, said bill was not reconsidered by the General Assembly or was so disapproved by the Governor after said adjournment.

Now therefore, as required by Article Third of the Amendments to the Constitution of the Connecticut, I hereby call the January 2018 Special Session of the General Assembly to reconvene in session at Hartford on Monday, January 29, 2018 at ten o'clock in the morning, for a period not to exceed three days following such reconvening, for the sole purpose of reconsidering and, if the General Assembly so desires, repassing said bill. Thank you, Mr. Speaker. Mr. Speaker, I move that we waive the reading of the veto message from the Governor and that they be printed in the journal.

Yes, Mr. Speaker. It is our intention to return on Wednesday, January 31, at 11: 00 a. m. to address the matter raised in the member's letter. Until then, I move that we adjourn, subject to the Call of the Chair.
