AN ACT CONCERNING CLASSROOM SAFETY AND DISRUPTIVE BEHAVIOR.

AMENDMENT

LCO No.: 4546

File Copy No.: 480

Senate Calendar No.: 281

OFA Fiscal Note

State Impact: None

Municipal Impact: None

Explanation

The amendment strikes the underlying bill and its associated fiscal impact. The amendment requires local and regional school districts and the State Department of Education (SDE) to implement a number of plans and policies involving “daily classroom safety.” Currently, both local and regional school districts and SDE have similar policies in place to address teen dating violence and bullying. It is anticipated that both entities could incorporate “daily classroom safety,” using existing expertise and staff. Additionally, the amendment makes procedural changes regarding the revision of safe school climate plans, which has no fiscal impact.
