OFA Fiscal Note
The amendment strikes the underlying bill and its associated fiscal impact.
The amendment, which establishes certain requirements regarding the scheduling of employee shifts by employers, may result in an increased cost to the Department of Labor (DOL). The bill allows DOL to develop regulations necessary to enforce the bill; to the extent that those regulations are developed and enforced, DOL may need additional staff resources to handle the increased number of complaints generated.
To the extent that the state or municipalities employ employees covered under the provisions of the amendment, this also results in a potential compliance cost to the state and municipalities.
The preceding Fiscal Impact statement is prepared for the benefit of the members of the General Assembly, solely for the purposes of information, summarization and explanation and does not represent the intent of the General Assembly or either chamber thereof for any purpose. In general, fiscal impacts are based upon a variety of informational sources, including the analyst's professional knowledge. Whenever applicable, agency data is consulted as part of the analysis, however final products do not necessarily reflect an assessment from any specific department.
