Potential Savings

There is a potential savings to municipalities from the amendment, which expands fire police officers' duties to include traffic control for certain municipal events. To the extent that the town would have otherwise paid its local police force to conduct such traffic control, there are savings to having volunteer or paid fire police officers provide this service.
