AN ACT CONCERNING THE STUDY OF HEALTH INSURANCE OPTIONS FOR INDIVIDUALS INELIGIBLE FOR MEDICAID.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. (Effective from passage) Within available appropriations, the State Comptroller and the executive director of the Office of Health Strategy, appointed pursuant to section 19a-754a of the general statutes, shall convene a study group to make recommendations on the feasibility of developing a health insurance coverage option for individuals ineligible for Medicaid. The Office of the State Comptroller and the Office of Health Strategy may seek grants to support such study group. Not later than February 1, 2019, the State Comptroller and the executive director shall submit the study group's recommendations to the Health Care Cabinet established pursuant to section 19a-725 of the general statutes.

This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:

The bill does not result in a fiscal impact to the convening agencies as the requirements of the amendment are within the expertise and resources of the respective agencies.
