AN ACT CONCERNING THE DONATION OF BLOOD BY MINORS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. Section 19a-285a of the general statutes is repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective July 1, 2018):

Any person who is [seventeen] sixteen years of age or older shall have the legal capacity, without written authorization of his or her parent or guardian, to donate blood or any component thereof and to consent to the withdrawal of blood from his or her body, in conjunction with any voluntary blood donation program.

This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:
