AN ACT INCREASING THE CIGARETTE TAX.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapter 214 of the general statutes be amended to increase the cigarette tax by one dollar, with fifty per cent of the revenue to be dedicated to tobacco education, prevention and cessation programs and fifty per cent of the revenue to be deposited in the General Fund.

Statement of Purpose:

To increase the cigarette tax by one dollar, with fifty per cent of the revenue to be dedicated to tobacco education, prevention and cessation programs and fifty per cent of the revenue to be deposited in the General Fund.
