The Out Years

The amendment requires the town of Durham to pay water diversion permit fees, for a three-day period, unless the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) waives the fees.

To the extent DEEP waives the water diversion permit fees, the amendment would result in a revenue loss to DEEP of between $1,050 and $1,250 in FY 20, and a commensurate savings to the town of Durham of between $1,050 and $1,250.

Senate “A” alters the underlying bill by requiring the town of Durham to remit the permit fees unless waived by DEEP, resulting in the impact described above.
