SPEAKER WINKLER (56TH):

(Gavel) The House of Representatives is now in session. Will all members and guests please rise and direct your attention to our guest Chaplain, Mary Alice Hughes of Haddam.

GUEST CHAPLAIN MARY ALICE HADDAM:

Let us pray. Lord, as we witness the beauty and rebirth of all living things during this season of Spring, help us to work toward preserving the natural beauty which abounds in the State of Connecticut so that future generations might also enjoy it. Amen.

SPEAKER WINKLER (56TH):

Mary Alice Hughes of Haddam will lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance.

GUEST CHAPLAIN MARY ALICE HUGHES:

(All) I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

SPEAKER WINKLER (56TH):

Is there any business on the Clerk's desk?

CLERK:

Yes, Mr. Speaker. The Clerk has Favorable Reports, House Joint Resolutions, and House Bills to be tabled for the calendar and printing.

REP. ELLIOTT (88TH):

Mr. Speaker, I move that we waive the reading of the House Favorable Reports and the Bills and Resolutions be tabled for the calendar and printing.

SPEAKER WINKLER (56TH):

I think I was supposed to say the Speaker of the Chair recognizes Representative Elliott.

REP. ELLIOTT (88TH):

Mr. Speaker, I move that we waive the reading of the House Favorable Reports and the Bills and Resolutions be tabled for the calendar and printing again.

SPEAKER WINKLER (56TH):

Is there objection? Hearing no objection, it is so ordered.

CLERK:

Also, Mr. Speaker, the Clerk has a List of Referrals and in accordance with House Rule 20(e), a written Expression of Agreement between the Majority Leader and the Minority Leader is in the possession of the Clerk.

SPEAKER WINKLER (56TH):

This Chair recognizes Representative Elliott of the 88th.

REP. ELLIOTT (88TH):

Mr. Speaker, I move that we waive the reading of the list of Referrals as stipulated by the Majority Leader and Minority Leader and the Bills be referred to the committees indicated.

SPEAKER WINKLER (56TH):

Is there objection? Hearing no objection, it is so ordered.

CLERK:

Mr. Speaker, there is no further business on the Clerk's desk.

SPEAKER WINKLER (56TH):

The Chair recognizes Representative Elliott of the 88th.

REP. ELLIOTT (88TH):

Mr. Speaker, there being no further business on the Clerk's desk, I move that we adjourn subject to the Call of the Chair.
