OFA Fiscal Note
State Impact: SEE BELOW
Municipal Impact: None
The amendment reduces the revenue gain to the Special Transportation Fund in the underlying bill by changing the application fee from $50,000 to $5,000.
Also, the amendment does not result in a fiscal impact until 2022 as a contract is in place for non-emergency medical transportation until that time. The amendment does not require the contract to be renegotiated, to the extent permit by the terms of any contract. After 2022 there may be a fiscal impact to the state to the extent the amendment limits the state's ability to seek the most favorable contracted rates by limiting the pool of eligible vendors to those who are common carriers.
