AN ACT CONCERNING THE CHARGING OF UNEMPLOYMENT COMPENSATION BENEFITS TO EMPLOYERS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to provide that when an employee voluntarily terminates his or her employment with an employer, and the employee is subsequently terminated by a second employer under circumstances that permit the payment of unemployment compensation benefits, the payment of unemployment compensation benefits after the termination shall not be charged to the account of the first employer.

Statement of Purpose:

To prohibit charging the payment of unemployment compensation benefits to an employer when an employee voluntarily terminated his or her employment, and the employee is subsequently terminated by a second employer and paid unemployment compensation benefits.
