AN ACT CONCERNING THE REGULATION OF GAMING AND THE AUTHORIZATION OF A CASINO GAMING FACILITY IN THE STATE.
The original fiscal note did not include the costs associated with liquor control enforcement and the full extent of equipment needs for Department of Consumer Protection regulation of a new, privately owned casino. Casino liquor control enforcement at such a casino requires one new Liquor Control Supervising Casino Agent and six new Liquor Control Casino Agents at the following costs: (1) annual salary and differential pay of $504,494, (2) annual fringe benefits of $192,111 (funded through the Office of the State Comptroller), and (3) other expenses and equipment beyond the original fiscal note of $298,934 in the first year and $260,100 on an annual basis thereafter. The total additional cost to the General Fund is $995,439 in the first year of new casino operation and $956,705 on an annual basis thereafter.
