The meeting was called to order at 10:42AM by Chairman, Rep. Fleischmann A. 018.

REMARKS BY THE CO-CHAIRS

Rep. Fleischmann began with opening remarks. The Representative announced that the committee would recess after voting until 3:00PM of the same day. The Representative then welcomed the new Education Committee staff, the staff of Fiscal Analysis, Legislative Research, Legislative Commissioners Office, Co-Chair Sen. Slossberg, ranking members, and members of the committee.

Sen. Slossberg welcomed the committee members, and members of the public.

CALL TO ACTION

Rep. Fleischmann began with item 3 of the agenda;


COMMITTEE BILLS TO BE RAISED

Rep. Fleischmann stated that the sub items are discussed annually, and for any additional actions which were not presented to be brought to the attention of the Co-Chairs and/or ranking members. The Representative stated that any bills raised during the session pertaining to expenditures would be discussed cautiously due to budget restraints.

Rep. Fleishmann called for a motion to raise sub items 1 – 19. Motion was made by Rep. Bolinski and seconded by Sen. Slossberg. Motion passed unanimously by voice vote.

Rep. Fleischmann announced a committee meeting on Wednesday, February 17th at 11:00AM in room 1E. The Committee Clerk will send out a tentative schedule after the meeting. Rep. Genga brought forward a possible scheduling conflict due to a session scheduled for the same day. Rep. Fleischmann noted that he would look into the conflict and amend if needed.

RECESS AND ADJOURNMENT

Rep. Fleischmann called for a recess and to hold attendance open at the Education Committee room until 3:00PM
