"AN ACT CONCERNING THE AUTHORITY AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF ADVANCED PRACTICE REGISTERED NURSES. "

Change the effective dates of sections 45 to 51, inclusive, to "Effective January 1, 2017"

Strike sections 52 and 57 in their entirety and renumber the remaining sections and internal references accordingly.

Strike lines 65 and 66 in their entirety and insert the following in lieu thereof: "pursuant to chapter 370 or, to the extent permitted by federal law, (i) an advanced practice registered nurse who is licensed pursuant to chapter 378, or (ii) if the individual's impairment is blindness, an optometrist licensed pursuant to chapter 380. "

Strike line 2137 in its entirety and insert the following in lieu thereof: "prescribing physician, prescribing advanced practice registered nurse or prescribing optometrist indicates"

Strike line 2377 in its entirety and insert the following in lieu thereof: "prescribing physician, prescribing advanced practice registered nurse or prescribing optometrist indicates"

Strike lines 2647 and 2648 in their entirety and insert the following in lieu thereof: "including, in the case of alleged physical disability, a statement of a physician or an advanced practice registered nurse or, in the case of alleged blindness, [or physical disability] a statement of a physician, an advanced practice registered nurse or an optometrist, within"

After the last section, add the following and renumber sections and internal references accordingly:

"Sec. 501. Subsection (c) of section 10-298 of the general statutes is repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective October 1, 2016):

(c) The Commissioner of Rehabilitation Services shall provide the Department of Motor Vehicles with the names of all individuals sixteen years of age or older who, on or after October 1, 2005, have been determined to be blind by a physician, an advanced practice registered nurse or an optometrist, as provided in section 10-305, as amended by this act. The Commissioner of Rehabilitation Services shall provide simultaneous written notification to any individual whose name is being transmitted by the Commissioner of Rehabilitation Services to the Department of Motor Vehicles. The Commissioner of Rehabilitation Services shall update the list of names provided to the Department of Motor Vehicles on a quarterly basis. The list shall also contain the address and date of birth for each individual reported, as shown on the records of the Department of Rehabilitation Services. The Department of Motor Vehicles shall maintain such list on a confidential basis, in accordance with the provisions of section 14-46d. The Commissioner of Rehabilitation Services shall enter into a memorandum of understanding with the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles to effectuate the purposes of this subsection.

Sec. 502. Section 19a-264 of the general statutes is repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective October 1, 2016):

The local director of health shall transmit to any physician or advanced practice registered nurse reporting a case or suspected case of tuberculosis as provided in section 19a-262, as amended by this act, a printed statement describing such procedure and precautions as are deemed necessary or advisable to be taken on the premises occupied by a tuberculosis patient, and such precautions shall be communicated to the family of the patient. Any physician [or person practicing as a physician] licensed pursuant to chapter 370, or advanced practice registered nurse, licensed pursuant to chapter 378, who wilfully makes any false statements in the reports provided for in said section, and any person violating any of the provisions of said section, shall be fined not less than five dollars nor more than fifty dollars or imprisoned not more than six months or be both fined and imprisoned. "

This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:
