"AN ACT CONCERNING THE PALLIATIVE USE OF MARIJUANA. "

After the last section, add the following and renumber sections and internal references accordingly:

"Sec. 501. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2016) Any qualifying patient, as defined in section 21a-408 of the general statutes, as amended by this act, who is under eighteen years of age and has been issued a written certification for the palliative use of marijuana shall be examined by the qualifying patient's primary care physician or a physician who is board certified in an area of medicine involved in the treatment of the debilitating condition for which the qualifying patient was certified not less than once every six months to determine whether the qualifying patient has suffered any side effects from the palliative use of marijuana. "

This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:
