OFA Fiscal Note
The amendment requires that the Judicial Department Office of Victim Services serve as a liaison to the applicant of a civil restraining order and assist the applicant in all dealings with the Division of Criminal Justice and the law enforcement agency. It is anticipated that this provision will result in a potential cost of $100,000 to the Judicial Department Office of Victim Services for two additional staff to comply with this additional responsibility.
The amendment makes various other procedural changes regarding civil restraining and protection orders that do not result in a fiscal impact.
