The amendment strikes the underlining bill and its associated fiscal impact.
The amendment prevents electric suppliers from entering into or automatically renewing a contract to charge a residential customer a variable rate for electric generation services. The amendment also requires the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA) to develop recommendations and guidance regarding what generation services rate structure and rate increase is just and reasonable for customers who allow a fixed contract with an electric supplier to expire and begin paying a month-to-month rate. The amendment has no fiscal impact.
