Explanation
The amendment makes various changes that result in a fiscal impact to the Board of Pardons and Parole within the Department of Correction (DOC).
The amendment also requires the agency to notify the Chief State's Attorney via certified mail of any parole hearings. The agency holds approximately 2,000 hearings annually, which will cost $6,660 per year to notify the Chief State's Attorney's office using certified mail.
