RESOLUTION CONCERNING THE PERSONAL SCREENING SYSTEM IN THE LEGISLATIVE OFFICE BUILDING AND STATE CAPITOL.

Resolved by this Assembly:

That the General Assembly require the Joint Committee on Legislative Management to (1) conduct a public investigation of the cost, efficacy, and practicality of the personal screening system instituted in 2014 in the Legislative Office Building and State Capitol from the point of view of a visitor, (2) hold at least two public hearings on the subject, at least one of which shall occur outside of the Legislative Office Building without being subject to such system; and (3) report recommendations regarding such system to the full General Assembly for a vote.

Statement of Purpose:

To require a vote of both houses on the personal screening system which was instituted without the participation or a vote of the Joint Committee on Legislative Management or the members of the Connecticut General Assembly.
