REASONS FOR BILL:

To ensure that a clinical laboratory administers a hair follicle drug test when such a test has been ordered by a licensed physician, physician assistant or advanced practice registered nurse.

RESPONSE FROM ADMINISTRATION/AGENCY:

Senator Carlo Leone, Deputy President Pro Tempore: Supports SB 193 because it would require a hair follicle drug test when such a test has been ordered by a licensed physician, physician assistant, or advanced practice registered nurse. Sen. Leone shared a personal story from a constituent who lost his son because of internal policies of the laboratory. Sen. Leone emphasized the importance of this bill.
