OFA Fiscal Note
The bill requires hospitals to provide training and instruction for designated caregivers prior to a patient's discharge. This may be provided either in person, or through video technology, as determined by the hospital to effectively provide instruction. There is no anticipated fiscal impact.
Senate “A” eliminated a provision of the underlying bill that required the discharge training and instructions to be at the discretion of the caregiver. The amendment eliminated a cost of up to $325,000 in FY 16 and $300,000 in FY 17 for the UConn Health Center.
