The amendment results in a cost to the Office of the State Comptroller fringe benefit accounts of $5,741,600 in FY 15 and $6,070,548 in FY 16. The amendment results in a savings of $5,741,600 in FY 15 and $6,070,548 in FY 16 for municipalities with a resident state trooper (RST). The amendment eliminates the requirement for municipalities to reimburse the state for the portion of fringe benefit costs associated with the RST required under current law.
