AN ACT CONCERNING THE ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE AND DEMENTIA TASK FORCE'S RECOMMENDATIONS ON TRAINING.
LCO No.: 3677
File Copy No.: 169
Senate Calendar No.: 133
OFA Fiscal Note
As a result of the amendment, the state cost in the underlying bill is now a potential cost. The amendment requires each basic or reviewing training program for police officers to include training on cognitive disorders and diseases. To provide this training, the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection (DESPP) would incur a cost of approximately $50,000 in FY 15 and $2,500 annually thereafter.
It should be noted that the amendment requires that the training be provided within available appropriations. It does not appear that this mandates that DESPP perform the activity regardless of available funding, therefore the cost described above is potential.
The municipal impact identified in the underlying bill is unchanged.
The preceding Fiscal Impact statement is prepared for the benefit of the members of the General Assembly, solely for the purposes of information, summarization and explanation and does not represent the intent of the General Assembly or either chamber thereof for any purpose.
