AN ACT CONCERNING THE GOVERNOR'S RECOMMENDATIONS TO IMPROVE ACCESS TO HEALTH CARE.
LCO No.: 3814
File Copy No.: 101
House Calendar No.: 310
Senate Calendar No.: 108
OFA Fiscal Note
The amendment requires APRNs to have engaged in the performance of advanced practice level nursing activities in collaboration with a physician for a period of not less than 6,240 hours before they may practice independently.1 It also requires that APRNs practicing independently provide written notice to each person they provide services to that they are not practicing in collaboration with a physician. These changes do not alter licensure or regulatory requirements of the Department of Public Health and, therefore, do not result in a fiscal impact to the agency. An advertising requirement and the establishment of civil liability immunity for certain physicians also do not result in a fiscal impact.
The preceding Fiscal Impact statement is prepared for the benefit of the members of the General Assembly, solely for the purposes of information, summarization and explanation and does not represent the intent of the General Assembly or either chamber thereof for any purpose. In general, fiscal impacts are based upon a variety of informational sources, including the analyst's professional knowledge. Whenever applicable, agency data is consulted as part of the analysis, however final products do not necessarily reflect an assessment from any specific department.
1 This is in addition to requirements included in the underlying bill.
