AN ACT CONCERNING VARIOUS REVISIONS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF MENTAL HEALTH AND ADDICTION SERVICES' STATUTES.
LCO No.: 5015
File Copy No.: 146
House Calendar No.: 105
Senate Calendar No.: 448
OFA Fiscal Note
The amendment prohibits the sale of motor vehicles histories to insurance companies by or on behalf of the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). It is uncertain whether these vendors are acting on behalf of DMV which could result in a potential annual revenue loss (Transportation Fund) of up to $23.5 million and an annual cost (General Fund) of $2.5 million to the Department of Administrative Services (DAS). These costs are a result of a new DAS web portal that was designed and built based on a self-funded model.
