REASONS FOR BILL:

The Labor Department statutes were obsolete.

Commissioner Palmer submitted testimony supporting this bill which makes technical changes to obsolete DOL statutes and repeals outdated reports. It re-establishes the recently repealed Office of Workforce Competitiveness requirements, repeals unfunded self-sufficiency measurements reports and extends the annual plan for the coordination of all employment and training programs to January 31, 2015. It also has technical changes that will provide confidentiality safeguards. It defines the definition “labor organization” and coordinates language within the statue and clarifies subdivisions/subsections.
