REASONS FOR BILL:

Currently, homeowners are receiving less than market value appraisals on property being taken under eminent domain for school construction. This bill assures homeowners receive fair compensation for their home.

Randy Collins, Senior Legislative Associate for CCM would not like this issue re-opened as he feels the reform to state law; as a result of the Kelo v. New London decision, should be given time to be implemented.
