The amendment, which requires the Commissioner of Emergency Services and Public Protection to notify all organized local police departments and state police troops when the Commissioner is notified of an incident involving numerous victims or casualties, has no impact.
The Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection's (DESPP) state-wide police emergency radio network currently operates across the state and all local police departments possess radio base stations that allow them access to the network.
The development of a written policy concerning the notification process is not anticipated to result in a cost to DESPP.
