OLR Bill Analysis
AN ACT CONCERNING AMENDMENTS TO CONTRACTS BETWEEN THE STATE AND ANY MUNICIPALITY IN WHICH A CORRECTIONAL FACILITY IS LOCATED.
This bill specifically allows a municipal legislative body to seek and obtain an amendment to a contract that (1) is currently in effect between the municipality and a state agency and (2) relates to a correctional facility within the municipality that is owned or leased by the state and supervised by the Department of Correction (DOC) commissioner.
EFFECTIVE DATE: Upon passage

Towns hosting prisons often have contracts with DOC on a number of issues, such as usage of the town sewer system, noise control, and fencing.
