AN ACT ENABLING CERTAIN MUNICIPALITIES TO INSTALL TRAFFIC SIGNAL ENFORCEMENT CAMERAS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to allow any municipality with a population greater than forty-eight thousand, upon approval of such municipality's chief executive officer and legislative body, to authorize the use of automated traffic enforcement safety devices to enforce the provisions of section 14-299 of the general statutes, concerning traffic control signals, at intersections within such municipality.
Statement of Purpose:
To increase safety by reducing the number of red light violations.
