MEETING MINUTES

Thursday, January 17, 2013

2:00 PM in Room 2A of the LOB

The meeting was called to order at 2:11PM by Chairman, Sen. Osten C. S19.

Senator Osten and Representative Tercyak welcomed all attendees to the Labor and Public Employees Committee Meeting.

Senator Osten asked for a motion to draft items one through three under Concepts to Be Raised and stated that the committee would address item number four at a later time.

Representative Minor asked for clarification of the proposed concepts. Senator Osten explained that the minimum wage would be possibly increased in January of 2014 and 2015 and then indexed thereafter. The History of the Labor Movement would address the impact of the movement in schools. The Standard Wage concept was connected to Connecticut's Economic Development and would provide a standard wage for employees who worked on projects funded by the state or federal government. She then stated that item number four, ACC the Prevailing Wage, would be discussed later in screening.

A motion was made by Senator Gerratana and seconded by Representative Santiago. The motion passed with a voice vote.

Senator Osten announced that the next committee meeting would be on Jan. 29, 2012 at 2:00PM in room 1B of the LOB.

A motion was duly made by Representative Esposito and seconded by Senator Gerratana to adjourn the meeting.

The meeting was adjourned at 2:17PM.
