AN ACT REQUIRING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF MANUFACTURER MERCURY THERMOSTAT COLLECTION AND RECYCLING PROGRAMS.
As Amended by Senate "A" (LCO 3380)
Senate Calendar No. : 271
OFA Fiscal Note
The bill, which requires the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) to submit a report to the Environment Committee regarding the effectiveness of the mercury thermostat collection and recycling programs by January 1, 2017, does not result in a fiscal impact.
Senate “A” alters the original bill by requiring the manufacturer to perform the education and outreach provision instead of DEEP and eliminates the $25,000 cost to DEEP in FY 14 in the underlying bill. It instead results in the fiscal impact described above.
