After the last section, add the following and renumber sections and internal references accordingly:

"Sec. 501. (NEW) (Effective July 1, 2011) Local and regional boards of education shall require school employees, as defined in section 10-222d of the general statutes, as amended by this act, to complete annual training on the prevention, identification and response to youth suicide and school bullying, as defined in section 10-222d of the general statutes, as amended by this act. Such youth suicide and school bullying training shall be provided as part of the in-service training required by section 10-220a of the general statutes, as amended by this act, and shall count towards the professional development requirements pursuant to section 10-145b of the general statutes for any teacher, administrator or pupil personnel who holds the initial educator, provisional educator or professional educator certificate. Such youth suicide and school bullying training may be presented in person by mentors, offered in state-wide workshops, through on-line courses or through the dissemination of reading materials. "
