AN ACT CONCERNING THE STRENGTHENING OF SCHOOL BULLYING LAWS.
LCO No.: 6715
File Copy No.: 427
Senate Calendar No.: 243
OFA Fiscal Note
The amendment requires that students who are found to be bullies must serve an out-of-school suspension for at least three days. This adds bullying as an exception to the current in-school suspension law. It is anticipated that few suspensions will result from bullying. However, if a district does have a large number of bullies, and the district is no longer required to provide such students with in-school suspension, the district could incur some marginal savings.
