Explanation

The amendment requires the Department of Transportation (DOT) to conduct a study within available appropriations on the use of Radio Frequency Identifier (RFID) technology and submit a report by January 1, 2012, which will result in costs estimated between $300, 000 - $500, 000 to hire consultants and additional staff to meet the study requirements and deadline imposed by the amendment.
