SB-913

AN ACT MANDATING EMPLOYERS PROVIDE PAID SICK LEAVE TO EMPLOYEES.

AMENDMENT

LCO No.: 7812

File Copy No.: 76

House Calendar No.: 555

Senate Calendar No.: 97

OFA Fiscal Note

State Impact: See Below

Municipal Impact: See Below

Explanation

The amendment exempts workers fired for misuse of paid sick leave from eligibility for unemployment compensation benefits. To the extent any state and municipal employees are fired for such reasons, the state and municipalities will realize savings for costs they would have incurred as reimbursing employers for unemployment compensation claims.
