AN ACT CONCERNING NONVIOLENT DRUG POSSESSION OFFENSES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That subsection (a) of section 21a-267 and subsection (c) of section 21a-279 of the general statutes be amended to make the penalty for the possession of less than one ounce of a cannabis-type substance or the possession of drug paraphernalia an infraction rather than a misdemeanor.
Statement of Purpose:
To establish a more rational drug policy by decriminalizing the possession of less than one ounce of marijuana and the possession of drug paraphernalia.
