REASONS FOR BILL:

To update the statutes concerning pharmacist licensure and fee provisions and controlled substance registration.

This bill proposes three changes to the departments' pharmacy statutes: change language concerning pharmacist testing and associated fees to conform to current practice, change the statutes to allow the Department to hold an administrative hearing to determine the worthiness of an applicant where disciplinary action has taken place, and change license renewal from annually to biennially.
