Explanation

The amendment removes the requirement that municipalities join a regional Public Safety Answer Point (PSAP) by July 2016 in order to remain eligible for PSAP subsidies from the E 9-1-1 Fund. The result is the elimination of the total potential savings of $6.8 million to E 9-1-1 Fund. The potential cost to municipalities associated with either transitioning to a regional PSAP or losing PSAP subsidies is also eliminated.
