Explanation
The amendment strikes the expansion of the current primary care case management (PCCM) pilot program required in the underlying bill. This eliminates the associated uncertain fiscal impact.
The amendment further requires the Department of Social Services (DSS) to implement PCCM on a statewide basis for the HUSKY B and Charter Oak programs. DSS must secure administrative support services for this PCCM program.
Per member, per month costs for the current PCCM pilot is not available as the anticipated external evaluation has not yet been completed. As such, the potential fiscal impact of providing services to all HUSKY B and Charter Oak enrollees via a PCCM model rather than the current managed care model is not known.
The preceding Fiscal Impact statement is prepared for the benefit of the members of the General Assembly, solely for the purposes of information, summarization and explanation and does not represent the intent of the General Assembly or either chamber thereof for any purpose.
