Explanation

The bill requires local and regional boards of education and the State Department of Education (SDE) to incorporate teen dating violence and domestic violence into their in-service training programs.

It is anticipated that SDE would require additional resources of approximately $35,000 in FY 11, to standardize the implementation of training associated with teen dating violence and domestic violence. After the initial design and standardization of the program, SDE would require minimal on-going costs associated with dissemination of materials and minimal professional development.

There is no additional cost associated with allowing paraprofessionals and noncertified employees to voluntarily participate in the in-service training.

The Out Years

The annualized ongoing fiscal impact identified above, except for the one-time costs in FY 11, would continue into the future subject to inflation.
